D&H Fibreglass Techniques of Greater Manchester, UK in agreement with Marcos Cars took over production of the Mini Marcos in 1975. Harold Dermott of D&H asked Richard Oakes to design a new model, the Midas, which launched in 1978.
In 1981 the model was updated with improvements and introduced by Gordon Murray, of the Brabham
Formula team
Production included input from Colin Chapman of Lotus, and has changed hands several times through
to the present
